LIBRARY SERVICES
JBI CIRCULATING LIBRARY
- JBI is an Affiliated Library of the Library of Congress's National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped and maintains its high standards of narrating and recording. JBI receives no government funding and is supported by contributions from individuals and foundations.
- The JBI Talking Book circulating library contains audio books in the following languages: English, Russian, Yiddish, Hebrew, Hungarian, Romanian and Polish. JBI is creating an audio collection in Spanish. The Talking Book Library has over 13,000 titles.
- JBI offers a growing library of Large Print books.
- The JBI Braille Library Collection contains more than 8,500 titles in English and Hebrew.
MAGAZINES ON CASSETTE
- JBI regularly records The New Republic, Commentary, Tikkun, Moment, and The Jerusalem Report.
- JBI also records its own monthly JBI Voice and publishes in Braille the equivalent the Braille Review. These magazines are compendia of articles from a wide variety of publications.
CULTURAL EVENTS ON CASSETTE
- The JBI Cultural Series is a monthly offering of the best in concerts, lectures and drama and poetry.
CATALOGS
- JBI's on-line catalog is updated regularly and includes a short annotation for every title. JBI also offers printed catalog updates to registered patrons.
EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS
- JBI produces educational materials in Braille, Large Print or Audio for students of all ages.
LITURGICAL AND LIFECYCLE MATERIALS
- JBI provides in Braille, Audio and Large Print liturgical and life-cycle materials.
REGISTRATION
- Anyone who is visually impaired, blind, physically disabled or learning disabled is eligible to register for our free services.
