JBI serves over 10,000 blind and visually impaired individuals with Russian language materials and provides them with optical aids and special recreational activities.

JBI provides audio books to blind and visually impaired people in Hungary, Romania and Slovakia. In Hungary and Romania, JBI also supports recreational activities, cultural events and educational seminars. JBI has been instrumental in these countries in changing government policy toward the mainstreaming of blind children in educational settings.

In addition to its Free Library Services in the United States, the JBI Library provides Talking Books, Braille and Large Print books, magazines and special publications for the entire English-speaking world. JBI's Circulating Library reaches individuals in Canada, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, India and Israel.

JBI has a reciprocity arrangement with Jewish Care in England which promotes the exchange of literary and cultural materials, thus broadening the offerings to both populations.

In response to requests from Spanish-speaking populations in the United States, JBI is creating a circulating library of Jewish and general interest in the Spanish language.
